We are looking for a skilled and experienced person with a background in working with young people and safeguarding to join the Safeguarding team at The Deanes. Applicants should be flexible, able to work on their own initiative, under pressure and have the ability to prioritise to meet the need and demands of the role.
Your responsibilities will include taking part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings (Child Protection, Team around the family, and Child in Need), and contribute to the assessment of students (S17/S47). You will advise and support other members of staff on student welfare and child protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority, CAMHS and the police. This will involve referrals to appropriate external agencies including counselling services, CAMHS, and Youth Services.
You will need experience of supporting children and families through challenging issues, ideally within an education or children’s services background to support the students and families of our school community. However, we would also welcome applications from experienced youth/key workers who would be happy to undergo all relevant training.
A full, clean driving licence is desirable as this role will entail external visits to other schools and agencies.
