Wargrave House School (ages 5 – 16) & Ascent College (ages 16 – 25) operate a non-maintained special school and independent specialist college with an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding education and care to young people with Autism. We are the first national provider to receive Beacon status from the National Autistic Society.
An opportunity has arisen for an inspirational Deputy Head of Adult Services who can contribute to and embed the vision and values of Remarkable. You will be joining our unique and award winning college. Ascent College is at an exciting time in its development, and the successful candidate will play a central role in this next stage of our journey. We value leaders who are able to challenge the status quo, to think creatively and are able to find new solutions to the challenges we face in education and society.
You will:
- Oversee the development of teaching and Learning across functional skills, employability and PfA
- Lead curriculum development, teaching, learning, and assessment standards
- Support the day-to day smooth running of Ascent College
- Strategically lead safeguarding, attendance, behaviour, and continuous professional development
- Establishing and implementing policies for achieving aims and objectives
- Managing staff and resources effectively

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Significant relevant teaching experience.
- Experience of leadership and leading change
- A passion for holistic education
- A strong understanding of teaching, learning and assessment
