- Good Honours Degree
- Leadership and management training
- Further subject based training
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Successful teaching at Key Stage 3, 4 & 5
- Experience of leading effective work with Teaching staff
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor staff
- Good knowledge of recent curriculum changes
- The ability to lead strategically to impact on school improvements
- Excellent classroom teaching
- Experience in using ICT to support learning both in and out of the classroom

The Ripley Academy is an 11-18 school located in Derbyshire close to Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield and within easy reach of the Peak District. We are a member of the East Midlands Education Trust and work in close partnership with the other academies within the Trust including The West Bridgford School and John Flamsteed Community School. In February2020, the school was judged to be an Ofsted ‘Good’ school in all areas.

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Head of English who will assist the Head of Department in securing high quality teaching, the effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students.
