Deputy Head of MFL and EAL Faculty job summary

• To support the senior team in leading and managing the school
• To support the Head of Faculty regarding responsibility for MFL/EAL across the key stages by managing, supporting and monitoring the work of the departmental team and securing effective leadership and management of staff performance and the MFL curriculum.
• To develop a creative, engaging and consistent approach to MFL teaching and refine the new curriculum, enhancing and embedding AFL, literacy, thinking skills and personalised learning.
• To encourage a collaborative approach to teaching and learning between MFL teachers.
• To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.
• To ensure curriculum provision and developments are appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated and are in accordance with school policy and any national or local guidance.
• To raise standards of pupil attainment, achievement and behaviour for learning within the department.
• To be accountable for promoting, monitoring and supporting pupil progress and development within the department.
• To deliver consistently good to outstanding lessons and act as an excellent role model to other departmental team members.
• To make learning relevant by offering extra-curricular clubs, reward trips and residentials.
