The College seeks to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and skilful teacher for the role of Deputy Head of Science in our secondary team. You will need the ability to teach both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and there are also opportunities for teaching Key Stage 5.
The science department is large and offers successful courses at both GCSE, offering both triple and combined science, as well as Entry Level. At A-level pupils can study Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BTEC Science. Results in science are on an upward trend and we are looking for an innovative and inspiring teacher and leader to join the team.
As Deputy Head of Science, you will need outstanding teaching and interpersonal skills, the qualities necessary to inspire and lead a team and to be ambitious with a commitment to continuing your own professional development. The experience and skills to create a dynamic and engaging curriculum which inspires a love of the subject is essential and the desire and ability to maximise the performance of all pupils, to ensure the very best progress for all.
We can offer you an excellent opportunity for career progression both within the college, and the Trust, as well as a supportive professional environment with a highly visible and ambitious leadership team.
We are a successful, oversubscribed school with a rising roll and in 2020-21 became the first all through school in Cambridgeshire welcoming our first EYFS class on their 4-18 journey. Pupils enjoy their science lessons, and the science team are hardworking, enthusiastic, and committed. The Science Department ulty has also undergone extensive refurbishment, with a suite of learning walls and Promethean boards recently installed.
If you are ambitious and passionate about science and recognise its importance for the development of all pupils, and will strive to provide excellent results in our already successful faculty, we would like to hear from you.
We are a growing, successful and oversubscribed school, striving for Outstanding. We recently become an all-through school, the first in Cambridgeshire, and have pupils from age 4 – 18. The addition of our primary phase, over the coming years, will also provide lots of additional opportunities for staff to work in the primary phase as well as the secondary and Post-16.
