DEPUTY HEAD OF YEAR

(Non-teaching)

Permanent Role

35 hrs per week Term Time plus Designated Inset/Academy Days

The Deputy Head of Year will play a crucial role within the school supporting the Head of Year to ensure the best possible educational experience and outcomes, along with pastoral wellbeing for a particular cohort of students. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Year in effectively leading their team, providing a clear vision and direction, and identifying areas for improvement. They will also contribute to a positive and ambitious pastoral team ethos within the Pastoral Team. The successful candidate will coordinate and manage the work of the year team to meet school and national requirements of policy and practice thereby supporting overall pupils’ progress.

In addition to regular communication with parents and carers. The Deputy Head of Year will have a key role in liaising and communicating with other post holders: Head of Year, Tutor Team, and, where relevant, the Senior Leadership and Management Teams and external agencies.
