What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Deputy Head Teacher to work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership to the school in order to secure continuous improvement and support the Head Teacher and Governors in achieving our strategic aims.

We are looking for a Deputy Head Teacher who:

  • Will be committed to supporting the vision, aims and values of Selly Park Girls' School;
  • Has a proven track record of successful leadership, management and school improvement;
  • Has the strategic vision to motivate and inspire our learning community to educational excellence;
  • Has personal qualities which influence, motivate and inspire others to learn best practice and be confident to accept responsibility, innovate and lead change;
  • Will drive continuous improvement, raising attainment and progress throughout the school;
  • Can understand and analyse data to inform strategy in school;
  • Will innovate, cultivate and recognise outstanding teaching practice;
  • Will lead and inspire good behaviour outcomes to enable learning;
  • Will foster a positive and effective partnership between students, parents and the community;
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children;
  • Will actively promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the school.
