Further details about the role
Limehurst Academy is an exciting place to work and learn. Our school motto is Achievement in a Caring Environment. We have high aspirations for everyone who is part of our community whether student or member of staff. Since January 2021, we are also a proud member of the East Midlands Education Trust.
This post is a crucial one to the school. You will be looked up to by staff, students and parents alike. You will be expected to ‘set the tone’. You must be prepared to deputise; my work with ASCL, EMET and Leicestershire Secondary Heads take me out of school for a minimum of sixteen days per year; you must be ready and willing to lead the school.
As the person leading on curriculum, raising standards and quality assurance, you must be an outstanding teacher. While the role requires you to be competent in data analysis, our results have been achieved through hard work, high-quality teaching, and positive relationships between staff and students. The current Senior Leadership Team (Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, 4 Assistant Headteachers, & the Services Manager) work brilliantly together; we need somebody who can seamlessly add to that.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken during the recruitment process and this may include online searches.
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children
You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
