What skills and experience we're looking for

We are very excited to be recruiting for a second Deputy Head Teacher to join our school. We are looking for a strong, well-rounded individual who can drive significant improvements in their areas of responsibility but also for the whole school. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, highly driven leader who is an outstanding teacher with proven success in both teaching pupils with complex learning difficulties and with leadership and management experience.

This successful candidate will lead on assessment or curriculum (depending on experience), line manage AHTs in EYFS and KS1, attendance for vulnerable children in our school, and to ensure high quality communication in promoting partnership working with parents, professionals, and the wider community.

Amongst other things this individual must; - Be a positive role model and lead by example - Have high aspirations and a commitment to excellence for all - Be a robust and resilient leader, committed to going above and beyond - Be committed to working with pupils, parents and staff to raise standards

Springwell is a designated day special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties aged from 4 – 11 years. Many pupils have associated disabilities including speech and language disorders, autism and challenging behaviour.
We are located on the edge of the city in Thornhill, Southampton with an additional off site provision for our EYFS pupils and one provision located at a mainstream school in the city.
