Deputy Head - Teaching & Learning or Pupil Progress
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate of exceptional ability to join the school. We seek to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Deputy Headteacher who can play a leading role in either Teaching & Learning or Pupil Progress , and in taking the school forward to its next stage of development.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and experienced senior leader with a ‘track record’ of school improvement and ability to inspire and lead a committed team of staff. For the Teaching and Learning position, you will need to have extensive knowledge of and willingness to develop an understanding of educational theory, developments and best practice. The Pupil Progress role will require an ability to develop and organise evidence-based interventions within a tight budget to deliver the best outcomes for students.
You will enjoy working with our motivated, well-behaved pupils and with a supportive and hard-working staff in this highly respected over-subscribed 11 - 18 mixed comprehensive school.

Essential educational requirements
Degree level education 2.2 or above
QTS and Highly effective classroom teacher
Evidence of appropriate higher level CPD
Essential skills and experience
Recent/substantial experience as a Senior Leader
Raising the standards of teaching and Learning &/or behaviour and attendance of pupils at a whole school level
Monitoring pupil or cohorts which has led to increase in levels of progress
Managing and utilising the differing talents of staff across the organisation
Working with parents, outside agencies and other partners in order to raise achievement and safeguard children
Leading, motivating staff to increase the impact and effectiveness of staff
The ability to comprehensively interrogate and interpret data to monitor progress in children’s learning
Understanding of outstanding teaching and learning practice & how to diagnose and implement effective strategies to raise standards
Excellent communication skills, including written presentation and public speaking
Responding effectively to change and challenges arising from developments in education
Personal integrity,emotional intelligence and good judgement skills.
