About the role
Under the overall direction of the Headteacher play a lead role:
• In formulating the aims and objectives of the schools and establishing the policies, practices and timetables through which they are to be achieved
• Developing and maintaining the ethos and distinctive nature of our Catholic school
• Be responsible for the standards and curriculum of all pupils including monitoring of progress towards achievement and assessment
• In proactively managing staff, resources and the enhancement of the wider learning environment including displays and outdoor learning environments
• Take full responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher
• Carry out the professional duties of a teacher as required
• Take responsibility for child protection issues as appropriate taking responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
• In overseeing lunchtime organisation, including the lunchtime supervisors. Sharing lunchtime duties with the Headteacher as needed
• In developing and maintaining relationships and communications with stakeholders including the website
The role of Deputy Headteacher will involve teaching for two days per week. At this point in time it could be in either EYFS or KS1. We will be flexible for the right candidate.
