What skills and experience we're looking for
Deputy Headteacher
We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our dedicated team as the Deputy Headteacher. This is a full-time, non-class based role although there will be some teaching commitment. Experience leading in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) would be a strength, although not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the school, working closely with the Headteacher
Oversee the day-to-day management and operations of the school
Lead on the development and implementation of the school's improvement plan
Contribute to the creation and delivery of a stimulating and engaging curriculum
Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, providing support and guidance to staff
Ensure the effective deployment of resources and the management of the school's budget
Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, fostering strong relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider community
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Significant experience in a senior leadership role within a primary school setting
A proven track record of driving school improvement and raising standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A deep understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment frameworks
Commitment to promoting the well-being and personal development of all children
Desirable Qualities:
Experience leading in the EYFS
A passion for outdoor learning and a commitment to the OPAL approach
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including parents and governors
