Deputy Headteacher job summary

In addition to the requirements of a Class Teacher;
- support the vision, ethos & policies of the school and promote high levels of achievement;
- support the headteacher in initiating change, maintaining a positive attitude at all times;
- take responsibility for the development & monitoring of a core curriculum area;
- support the headteacher in the monitoring of the quality of teaching and children's achievements;
- lead staff meetings and INSET as requested;
- support the headteacher in the implementation of the school's
performance management/appraisal policy;
- manage the school effectively in the absence of the Headteacher;
- take on any additional responsibilities which might, from time to time, be determined by the Headteacher
