What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Good honours degree
  • PGCE (QTS)
  • Up to date learning/CPD
  • Evidence of leading impactful and sustained school improvement with clarity, appropriate pace whilst winning ‘hearts and minds’
  • Sustained recent success as a minimum at Assistant Headteacher level (demonstrable impact on outcomes and Ofsted grade)
  • Evidence of forensic use of a range of data to drive forward school improvement
  • Evidence of successfully developing and managing the performance of others
  • Demonstrable commitment to evidence informed actions and a warm-strict/tough love approach to behaviour
  • Understanding of how systems and routines lead to psychological safety for all particularly the most vulnerable and those with SEND needs
  • Working positively with all stakeholders, including parents and governors
  • Unswerving belief that through creating the right culture of achievement, ‘our kids can’
  • Commitment to a culture of safeguarding and hyper-vigilance
  • Understanding of what makes a school successful and a strong belief in systems leadership
  • Forensic attention to detail and an understanding of how this leads to successful implementation of change
  • Razor-sharp focus on data balanced with emotionally intelligent ‘gut instinct’
  • Ability to use data strategically to identify action, and measure the impact of this without jumping to unfounded conclusions
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to simplify complex issues
  • Highly visible leader who knows when to challenge and when to support
  • Understanding and commitment to powerful knowledge as a right for all
