Deputy Headteacher job summary

This is a maternity leave post to cover our current Deputy Headteacher from 1st January 2022 until 31st December 2022 or earlier return of the current post holder.

Cabot Primary School is a thriving and diverse school in the heart of the St Paul's community.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team.

This role will suit someone looking to progress in their career and potentially move on to headship. This is also an exciting opportunity for a leadership secondment for an existing Deputy or aspiring Assistant Headteacher or Senior Leader who is looking for experience in a thriving inner city school environment. We need to maintain our leadership capacity across the school in the Deputy’s absence, so this may also be suitable for experienced leaders who are not currently school based.

The post is full-time, five days a week. The role involves the equivalent of 2 days teaching responsibilities in Year 6 as well as leading literacy, pupil premium, assessment and the recovery curriculum across the school.

We are a good school. This was recognised by Ofsted in February 2015 and most recently in November 2018. We continue to grow in strength and reputation. We are currently working with the Excalibur Academy Trust and we are looking to fomalise our partnership with them this academic year. We are excited about the opportunities working with Excalibur will bring for the community we serve and all staff working in our school.

At the heart of everything we do is the school community and the people who work together to make this: children, staff, parents and governors. Every decision that we make revolves around our children and we live our values of Partnership, Inclusion and Excellence in all that we do. Our multi-cultural and diverse community is highly valued by our families and staff and as a school we expect everyone to actively contribute to and promote our strong, positive ethos. We are looking for a passionate person to join us on our journey and help continue to drive the school forward.

A visit to the school would be advantageous and will give you the opportunity to discuss the post with the headteacher.

Closing date 12 noon, Thursday 7th October 2021
Interviews week beginning Monday 18th October 2021

Please contact the school to arrange a visit and find out more about us and the post.
