Christ Church CE Primary is now seeking to recruit a dynamic and inspirational strategic leader to work alongside the Headteacher in driving school improvement. The successful candidate will be an experienced senior leader or current Deputy Headteacher and must be able to demonstrate experience of leading the improvement of teaching and learning including a strong understanding of effective pedagogies. Applicants must be able to evidence how they have used this knowledge, in their current post, to develop both their own practice as well as the practice of others in order to improve outcomes for all pupils.
Christ Church is on an exciting journey of improvement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the continual development of teaching and learning across the whole school in line with the school’s new vision of Nurture, Grow, Flourish. Alongside leading the development of teaching and learning, the successful candidate will also play a key role in leading the implementation of the school’s newly designed and bespoke curriculum and be responsible for the ongoing growth of the school’s subject leaders. To reflect the responsibilities of this role, the post is non-class based.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they:
• are an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong track record of positive outcomes for all pupils
• are an inspirational, energetic and highly motivated leader- you must be experienced in leading whole school change and transforming learning with noticeable impact on pupil achievement
• have experience of leading a core subject and can give examples of how they have improved the practice of other colleagues or settings (e.g. as leader in own school or as SLE)
• possess a deep understanding of curriculum design and pedagogy and cognitive science to ensure exceptional learning for all
• are an experienced strategic leader who is able to motivate and inspire colleagues, using coaching and mentoring to grow great teachers
• engage with, and use, educational research and ongoing professional development to improve their own knowledge and understanding
• exemplify our Christian values and provide a positive role model to pupils, staff and stakeholders
• have a sound understanding of safeguarding requirements and is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not already a DSL, there will be a requirement to take on the role of Deputy DSL)
• are a colleague who models positivity, takes pride in their role and possesses a good sense of humour
• will be a role model and ambassador for the school and its community
