Responsible for Quality of Education, Standards and Staff Development
We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, aspirational and dynamic Deputy Headteacher to join the forward thinking and ambitious team at Danecourt School.
We are seeking an outstanding leader who has an appetite for innovation, exceptional communication skills and who can inspire all stakeholders. With a passion for working with children with SEN and their families, you will embrace coaching approaches, be creative and flexible and, as with all staff, be non-judgmental, unconditionally accepting and highly resilient. As Deputy you will lead on teaching and learning and deputise for the Headteacher in her absence.
The position will commence in September 2021 and offers a unique opportunity to play a senior role in leading and developing the new satellite provisions based at two mainstream schools within the Maritime Trust.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing a person-centred curriculum and driving high standards of teaching and learning. Experience of working in a special school setting is desirable but not essential.
We have an excellent local reputation and offer a supportive and nurturing work environment led by a dedicated and dynamic senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of warm and friendly school community that is expanding, in addition to a progressive multi academy trust.
Commitment to safeguarding
Maritime Academy Trust is committed to recruiting with care and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS and pre-employment checks.

Danecourt Special School is part of the Maritime Multi-Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of schools in Greenwich and Kent. Our schools transform through collaboration and an entrepreneurial curriculum which equips children with life skills.
We are a special school catering for primary aged children who have special educational needs. The children who attend Danecourt have a wide breadth of need including complex learning difficulties, autism and social emotional mental health needs.
At Danecourt our mission is to provide all pupils with a ‘stimulating learning environment where every individual is valued, respected, safe and successful’. All pupils receive a personalised curriculum tailored to meet their specific needs.
The highly trained staff team maintains high expectations of what each individual pupil is able to achieve, striving to ensure that they all reach their maximum potential; celebrating difference and encouraging curiosity and creativity. Staff work collaboratively with families and a range of other agencies in order to meet the pupils needs and as a result, they make strong progress academically, emotionally and socially. Pupil achievement is hugely valued and celebrated in a manner that is meaningful and appropriate for each pupil.
If you are interested in working with us come and visit, meet some of the pupils and staff to experience for yourself the quality of education given to all of our children and the unique atmosphere throughout our school.
