Deputy Headteacher job summary
Deputy Headteacher, Harlington Lower School
Salary: L3-7
Hours: Full Time
Due to the retirement of our long-standing Deputy Headteacher, we are seeking to appoint a talented, dynamic, and inspiring Deputy Headteacher for September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly village school and to help lead the school on the next stage of its journey.
As a values-based school, our values of respect, kindness, and honesty are at the heart of everything that we do. We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who embodies these values.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate senior leadership experience and evidence of strong leadership skills and proven impact on outcomes. The ideal candidate must be resilient, patient, and have good communication skills.
As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the Executive Headteacher in providing clear vision, ethos, and direction for the school. You will lead by example, model best practice, and be able to motivate and inspire others. You will have high expectations in behaviour and attainment and put the children at the heart of everything.
The Executive Headteacher is Headteacher over two schools (Harlington Lower School and Sundon Lower School). Therefore, this role will involve deputising for the Headteacher on a regular basis. The role will also include the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
The successful applicant will need to be able to work well independently but also as part of a team. They must be prepared to work collaboratively with other schools, especially our sister school – Sundon Lower School.
We can offer a supportive environment with a friendly staff team, a passionate Senior Leadership Team, and a warm, positive, and caring ethos with values at the core of our school, and excellent opportunities for CPD.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers, online checks, and the Disclosure and Barring Scheme. CVs will not be accepted for any posts based in schools.
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged. To book a visit with Victoria Paulding, Executive Headteacher, please contact office@harlingtonlower.co.uk
