Deputy Headteacher job summary
Heathlands Primary Academy & Pre-School has an excellent opportunity for a new leader to work with the Headteacher to secure rapid and sustained school improvement; this is an exciting time to join us on our improvement journey and help influence the strategy for our school. If you can inspire, encourage, motivate and support our children, staff and parents, then this is the role for you!
The Partnership, the Governors and the Headteacher are looking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Deputy Headteacher to lead Teaching and Learning and Curriculum across the school. This will be a key role in supporting the school move forward on our journey to make the learning experiences the best possible for the children of our community. This role will include a teaching commitment of up to two days per week.
We are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who:
• Is an outstanding practitioner with recent primary classroom experience
• Is able to build on existing good practice and implement changes positively and sensitively
• Inspires a spirit of life-long learning and enable our pupils and staff to maximise their potential
• Is a skilled motivator and leader with an ability to bring staff together and build teams
• Has a good sense of humour and excellent communication skills
• Will work closely with the Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and other school leaders to bring about the shared vision of the school.

Heathlands Primary Academy & Pre-School is a one-form entry primary academy located in the West Howe area, Bournemouth. We have around 170 pupils from Reception age 4 through to year 6 age 11. We are also fortunate to have our wonderful preschool for 3 and 4 year olds on site, as part of our Early Years base.
The school is part of the Coastal Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust; a vibrant, collaborative partnership of sixteen schools working together around shared goals, values and aspirations. This recently merged Partnership ensures schools benefit from a collaborative spirit whilst also being encouraged to develop their own character to best serve their immediate communities.
