It is important that you are aware that the key area of responsibility for the Deputy Headteacher role will be for assuring the Quality of Education we provide at Lathom.
The core purpose of the Deputy Headteacher is to work closely with the Headteacher to provide professional leadership and management for the school by:
Promoting a secure foundation from which to achieve high standards in all areas of the school’s work;
Ensuring high quality education by effectively managing teaching and learning and using personalised learning to realise the potential of all students;
Establishing a culture that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all students.
The Deputy Headteacher is a key professional in the school and accountable to both the Headteacher and Governing Board.Working alongside the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher will provide vision, leadership and direction for the school and ensure it is managed and organised to meet its aims and targets.
Working
with others, the Deputy Headteacher will evaluate
the school’s performance to identify the priorities
for continuous improvement and raising standards;
ensuring equality of opportunity for all; developing
policies and practices; ensuring that resources are
efficiently and effectively used to achieve the school’s
aims and objectives and for the day-to-day management,
organisation and administration of the school.

We love working extremely closely with our wonderful primary colleagues in Skelmersdale and constantly seek new opportunities to develop this work further.
