Are you ready to join our team? Are you aspiring to be a senior school leader? Then if so, we are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher for Long Sutton County Primary School. Following the promotion of our current Deputy Headteacher, our new appointment will be part of our senior leadership team and work in partnership with the school community, the local governing board and Keystone Academy Trust in our continuing drive for great outcomes. You will lead teaching and learning, continue to embed our strong behaviour culture across the school and be one of our deputy designated safeguarding leads. This is a non-class based role but will involve one day of teaching.

The successful applicant will:

be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire all

be passionate about pupil progress and the development of teaching and learning at all levels

have extensive experience across the Key Stages, preferably Early Years and Key Stage 1

have experience of leading assessment and analysing data

have experience of leading others

have designated, or deputy designated, safeguarding lead experience or be willing to undertake the training

be able to work well in partnership with the trust, Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Governors in monitoring and evaluating the standards of teaching and learning within school

have excellent communication skills that make you approachable to all stakeholders

be enthusiastic, positive and a facilitator of improvement

be well organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment

have the highest expectations of pupils’ learning and behaviour

Long Sutton County Primary School is a fully inclusive two-form entry school, with a nursery, and is part of the Keystone Academy Trust, which prides itself on recognising the individual characteristics of each of its schools. The academy is set in spacious and attractive grounds and prides itself on the facilities it offers. We constantly strive to ensure that the education we offer excites, motivates and challenges our pupils so that they get the very best out of their time at Long Sutton.

We are a two-form entry school with around 450 pupils and a nursery, but we pride ourselves on having a real family feel. Staff, parents and governors work together as a team for the good of all children. There is a good balance of experience within the whole staff team, both teachers and teaching assistants. Every member of the teaching staff is given the opportunity to take on an area of responsibility within a curriculum team and grow as a leader. As part of Keystone Academy Trust, we also benefit from an experienced central team, who support the school in continual improvement.
