Experience
Evidence of exemplary teaching in a primary setting
Evidence of good outcomes for all pupils
A track record of implementing successful strategies to raise achievement
A good understanding of effective strategies for gaining and maintaining high standards of behaviour at whole school level
Involvement in curriculum development in a school
Evidence of coaching and supporting staff to strengthen the teaching profile in school
Willingness to undertake DSL training for the role
An understanding of the role of the governors
Skills & Abilities
An excellent understanding of theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly in relation to sustaining learning.
Ability to form and maintain excellent relationships with children which enhance their learning and emotional well being
Managing people and resources
Experience of interpreting and using assessment data to raise achievement
Ability to analyse and evaluate data
An understanding of safeguarding and its importance within a school setting
An understanding of the role of parents and community in school improvement and how this can be promoted
