Deputy Headteacher job summary
Mount Street Primary School are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to join our outstanding team. Our Deputy Headteacher will drive forward teaching and learning and will support the Headteacher to develop a highly effective primary curriculum. The successful candidate will be committed to continually improve and develop the school through innovation, initiative and creativity.
Accountable to the Headteacher, the Deputy Headteacher will support the educational success of Mount Street and will play an integral role in the management of the school. We pride ourselves on our culture of constant improvement and our ideal candidate will therefore be committed to the highest achievement for all in all areas of the school’s work.
Under the direction of dynamic, consistent and motivational leadership, our Deputy Headteacher will support the successful delivery of the vision, ethos, aims and objectives of the school.
We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:
Has proven, effective leadership skills and the drive to help lead our school with passion, raising standards where required, but recognising and maintaining excellence where it is already in place.
Has an unrelenting belief and focus that all students can achieve high standards, whatever their background, life experiences or starting point.
Promotes high standards of teaching and learning through excellent classroom practice.
Possesses excellent communication skills with a firm commitment to working in partnership with children, staff, governors, families and the wider community.
Is passionate about education and learning and can inspire and motivate the school community.
Can demonstrate a commitment to the principles of inclusion, equality and high achievement for all.
Is committed to the continual development of themselves as practitioners.
The Deputy Headteacher will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a Headteacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).
This post will include a teaching commitment.
