Are you a passionate and experienced teacher ready to make a positive impact on the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our dedicated team as Deputy Headteacher at our Secondary School, North Star 240°.
We are seeking someone who is ready to take on a new challenge with opportunities for career advancement in a rapidly expanding Trust.
North Star Academy Trust consists of a Secondary and Primary Special School, which provides education to pupils aged 5-16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Additionally, we are proud to welcome a newly built Alternative Learning Provision to our Trust in September 2024. Our schools are conveniently located in the north of Bristol, both schools are easily accessible from the M4 and M5.
About You
Both of our schools have been rated as "Good" by OFSTED, and we are seeking an experienced teacher with management experience to support our Head Teacher in maintaining and elevating the high standards of teaching and learning within the schools. This role requires someone who is dynamic, challenging, and has practical experience working with SEMH students. As a successful candidate, you will help to develop staff, build strong teams, and drive the school forward.
In addition to the above, you will ideally have:
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A strong understanding of SEN policy and legislation
- Experience in developing and implementing inclusive education practices
- A passion for working with young people with SEMH needs
