We are seeking someone who is ready to take on a new challenge with opportunities for career advancement in a rapidly expanding Trust.

North Star Academy Trust consists of a Secondary and Primary Special School, which provides education to pupils aged 5-16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Additionally, we are proud to welcome a newly built Alternative Learning Provision to our Trust in September 2024. Our schools are conveniently located in the north of Bristol, both schools are easily accessible from the M4 and M5.

About You

Both of our schools have been rated as "Good" by OFSTED, and we are seeking an experienced teacher with management experience to support our Head Teacher in maintaining and elevating the high standards of teaching and learning within the schools. This role requires someone who is dynamic, challenging, and has practical experience working with SEMH students. As a successful candidate, you will help to develop staff, build strong teams, and drive the school forward.

In addition to the above, you will ideally have:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A strong understanding of SEN policy and legislation
  • Experience in developing and implementing inclusive education practices
  • A passion for working with young people with SEMH needs

What the school offers its staff

You will be part of:

  • An exciting and innovative development of a Primary and Secondary learning community
  • A dedicated team of staff who strive for excellence
  • A caring and inclusive ethos
  • A school which has supportive Governors and Parents with high expectations of the school

In return, we offer a competitive salary, pension, a supportive team, training and development and the potential for career progression to the right person.

We welcome informal discussions and school visits and encourage you to contact us to speak with the CEO to learn more about this role.
