What skills and experience we're looking for
Reporting To: Headteacher
The Island Learning Centre (ILC) is a pupil referral unit that supports some of the most vulnerable young people on the island. An exciting opportunity now exists for a Deputy Headteacher to be responsible for driving teaching and learning excellence including:
- Innovative curriculum development.
- Monitoring, evaluating and inspiring teaching and learning.
- Applying Quality First Teaching.
- Digital Literacy Development
The ILC provides a stimulating and nurturing environment for a range of students who for a variety of reasons are unable to attend mainstream schools. This could be due to medical needs, being emotionally vulnerable or having social and emotional difficulties.
The Centre aims to be a Trauma Informed and Therapeutic centre of excellence working with children their parents and home schools.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative individual who has high expectations of all children and what they can achieve.
