Deputy Headteacher / SENDCo job summary
Southtown Primary is seeking to appoint a dynamic & dedicated Deputy headteacher/SENDCo from January 2025. This role will be offered as a permanent position. The successful candidate will play a leading role in delivering the School Development Plan priorities, bringing clear strategic direction and ensuring that provision & outcomes are outstanding.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have extensive teaching experience with excellent knowledge of inclusion including EAL and children with SEND (previous experience as SENCO is desirable)
- Have experience of building and leading successful behaviour systems in school with excellent knowledge of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupils
- Have experience of leading a team and the ability to direct and co-ordinate the work of others, inspiring and supporting staff
- Have the ability to set high standards and act as a positive role model, leading by example
- Communicate effectively
- Have the ability to foster good relationships at all levels and be able to establish and maintain constructive and open relationships with parents, staff and the community
- Be passionate about continual professional development
- Be able to respond positively to pressure and deadlines
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Be skilled at leading high quality CPD and staff meetings
- Take the initiative to move things forward in a positive way
- Have knowledge of monitoring and school evaluation as a tool for improvement
