What skills and experience we're looking for
In the opening years, the Deputy role will come with a teaching commitment, and you will be part of shaping our long-term aim to provide outstanding learning opportunities for all of our pupils to flourish. You will have a comprehensive understanding of teaching, learning and assessment in Early Years and KS1 and you will need to be flexible, determined and passionate about providing the best outcomes for all pupils, especially the most disadvantaged. Alongside the skills to lead, monitor and evaluate the improvement of learning and teaching across all phases of the school, you will require the skills to work with others to develop their practice and promote the school values of kindness, belonging and curiosity. In addition, you will have a track record of working with stakeholders of the school and creating a community promoting belonging. You will have excellent communication skills to support all stakeholders of the school alongside a strategic yet flexible approach to school leadership.
What the school offers its staff
We have a unique and extremely exciting opportunity to be part of the founding senior leadership team of a brand-new school. We are looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher, who will play a central role in shaping the ethos and culture of our school for 4-11 year olds at Silfield Oak Primary Academy, Wymondham, Norfolk. As part of the Unity Schools Partnership multi-academy trust, the school will be part of a collaborative, forward thinking group of 40 schools. The school will initially open with 30 pupils in the first year and grow to 60 pupils in the second year. Eventually, the school will have the capacity for 420 pupils.
Significant training and development are available through opportunities for professional development, research, teacher training and collaboration between schools and across phases.
