Deputy Headteacher job summary
• To lead the Foundation, KS1, SENDco & Safeguarding across the school.
• To manage all safeguarding referrals.
• Be part of the team leading EHCP’s meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Ensure that outstanding safeguarding policies, procedures and practice are implemented across the school.
• Meet statutory requirements.
• To promote the ethos of our Catholic school within the context of our mission statement.
Be someone with integrity, drive and determination, but also has empathy and understanding of the needs of our diverse school;
Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with proven pupil attainment;
Have proven, recent senior management and leadership experience in a school;
Be a positive role model with the ability to support and mentor all staff;
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with ambition, flexibility, good humour and a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
Ideally possess the NPQH qualification or be willing to undertake this.

St Mary’s is a voluntary aided Catholic, one form entry, school in the Diocese of Brentwood.
