Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Academy
  • Support the Headteacher in the day to day leadership of the Academy, deputising for them as required
  • Provide strategic leadership for overseeing and embedding quality and standards in teaching, learning and assessment across the academy
  • Ensure the Academy is always fully compliant in all areas of Safeguarding
  • Leading on delegated areas of responsibility


Pay range:

Leadership Scale - L1-L10 (£47,185 - £58,959)


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Desirable NPQSL or other leadership qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Relevant degree
  • Proven record of exemplary teaching which has ensured good/outstanding progress and achievement for pupils across the full ability range.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of having additional Teaching and Learning Responsibilities eg. Key Stage leadership/Assistant Head/Existing Deputy Headteacher.
  • Experience of leading and implementing whole school initiatives and managing change, developing strategies for raising achievement.
