What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious school leader to help shape and nurture young minds. We are proud of our caring and supportive ethos, and you will join a forward-thinking senior team, leading with impact, clarity and humanity. The role incorporates:

  • Leadership and overall responsibility for key areas of the school’s strategic development plan
  • Leadership of academic standards, for all year groups, across the school.
  • Leadership of the Curriculum Design, including production of the school timetable and options process
  • Deputising for the Headteacher in their absence.

What the school offers its staff

As part of the John Milton Academy Trust, we will provide you with high quality induction and professional development to support your growth as a leader. Our 11-18 school is at an exciting stage in its development. Our dedicated new Sixth Form building opened to students in January 2021, and the Mulberry Centre, a 24 place SEND setting, opened in November 2021.

Commitment to safeguarding

John Milton Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance check. References will be taken up for all shortlisted candidates prior to interview. The Trust reserves the right to research short listed candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process.
