Deputy Headteacher job summary
Woodfield Academy is proud to sit at the heart of the Redditch three tier system and provides education for middle school pupils aged 9-13. The academy has excellent facilities on a par with most secondary schools and being one of only a few schools to have its own floodlit 3G sports facility.
The post has developed as we start a new period of transition at the Academy. The present headteacher started in September 2021 and has the opportunity to build a leadership team. This is an exciting point of the leadership development as the current Deputy and Assistant Headteacher positions have been in an acting position over the past year and the Directors are seeking permanent appointments. The creation of a senior leadership team which is forward thinking and ready to establish the Academy as a leading-edge provider is an exciting prospect.
You must be a team player who communicates well with pupils, staff and parents whilst being able to assert initiatives developing those around you. This will lead to the ultimate aim of developing an ethos that everyone representing the school badge work hard for each other. It is important that a community ethos is established where wearing the Woodfield uniform comes with pride and is seen as a privilege.
This is a unique opportunity to lead pupils who are in the age range most susceptive to learning. Applications from leaders in both the KS2 and KS3 sectors are encouraged as applicants from either key stage will demonstrate different qualities which will move the academy forward.
