Deputy Principal job summary

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior leader to help shape the future of the City of Peterborough Academy. This position is available from Easter or September 2020, following the internal promotion of the current Deputy Principal.

The role:
You will be an exceptional senior leader with a demonstrable commitment to helping all pupils achieve their best, despite their background. With high expectations for behaviour, you will motivate staff and pupils through high quality leadership and management.

You will be an innovative manager, able to analyse and interpret Academy data to support clear, strategic decisions. You will be well supported by the senior leadership team at the Academy and the Education Support Team of the Trust, to ensure that the overall Academy vision is achieved.

We are looking for someone that is dedicated to providing pupils with the best education possible and has the vision, passion and proven track record in school improvement to ensure significant improvements in pupil performance across the Academy. Great teamwork, leadership and communication skills are a must, along with an effective management style that encourages innovation and confidence and builds upon the positive culture amongst staff.

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'.

Both our Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust are committed to supporting pupils and staff alike.
