What skills and experience we're looking for

What are we seeking:

We are looking for a leader who shares our vision to enable everyone of our young people to grow and develop themselves as part of our Leadership Team. You will have the natural skills to inspire and motivate our students to excel across the Academy and to help shape them in becoming aspirational, informed, and compassionate global citizens as they gain a better understanding of the world around them and their role within it.

We would expect our future Deputy Principal to be on outstanding practitioner (possibly with a focus in Science, English, Maths or MFL) who would act as a role model for others in the classroom and around the Academy.

As Deputy Principal, you will need to be able to demonstrate leadership and alignment with the Academy values and beliefs, ensuring that the culture of the Academy is embedded and reflected in everyday practice. The Academy team has an ethos based on collaboration and support with staff sharing strategies and resources to help everyone deliver excellent education – a culture that we know helps develop careers and ensure success.

What the school offers its staff

Why consider Don Valley

Oasis Don Valley is a highly inclusive all-through 3-16 academy offering exceptional career opportunities for a candidate with a desire to make an impact. As an inner-city location benefiting from great transport links and a new building with established links to the Olympic Legacy Park you will be spoiled with access to facilities others can only dream of. The opportunity to motivate learners in such a unique environment is an unfair advantage that we won’t apologise for.

State of the art technology and science labs, a focus on European and World languages and an Oasis wide sector-leading commitment to the provision of IPad’s for all learners are just some of the reasons why we are proud of a school that offers every advantage.

To help realise this potential we are now looking for an equally focused and ambitious Deputy Principal to work alongside our Executive Principal (Nichola) our visionary heads of Secondary (Rachel) and Primary (Clare) and our Regional Director (Emma) – a network like no other. Designed to provide you with the support, mentoring and coaching when you need it, but the freedom to step up, develop and grow at the same time.

Further details about the role
