Deputy Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead (Deputy DSL) job summary
Bury St Edmunds County Upper School is a value driven school with an ‘ethos of excellence’ which is fundamental in maintaining exceptional standards in the safeguarding and well-being of all its students. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Safeguarding and Child Protection Lead who will work alongside our Deputy Headteacher and named DSL to oversee operational responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within the school.
We are looking for someone who:
• has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team supporting students
• is motivated and passionate about supporting the well-being and welfare of our students, going the extra mile for our most vulnerable students
• can demonstrate they have the experience and deep understanding of students needs
• has experience and a broad knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation, policy and best practice including successfully working with a variety of multi agencies to ensure the best possible care for students. The role would suit someone from a social care or police background
• is able to lead on the tracking, monitoring, planning and delivery of safeguarding training to colleagues
