DEPUTY SENCo, FULL TIME/PART TIME, PERMANENT – UPS/MPS + TLR 2A, REQUIRED FROM SEPTEMBER 2020 job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and caring teacher who is seeking to develop their teaching practice and leadership skills as Deputy SENCo in a fully inclusive school. The successful candidate will work alongside our SENCo and take the lead role in running our Access Centre, a resourced provision for up to 10 students with Communication and Interaction needs. We envisage that the successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of children with C and I needs (or a keen interest to learn) and the role will be to develop the provision in the centre and lead the team of TAs in the delivery of a holistic educational experience for EPIC students. In addition, the Deputy SENCo will maintain a teaching timetable in their subject as a mainstream teacher at The Dean Academy. In supporting the Learning Support team’s vision to create a teaching and learning environment where all students are fully included and where practice is adapted to meet individual need, the Deputy SENCo will also play a pivotal role in whole school support of SEND students. Candidates should also be an aspiring SENCo.
