There is much to do, but the successful applicant will be supported by a Trust wide SEN/SENCo network along with the and the opportunity to visit other schools to witness best practice and use that experience to develop others at Parkside School. What the school offers its staff

The Resource Provision is a dedicated area for students with EHCPs (Autism) to work in a hybrid model with students in school. We are excited that an extension to the current provision has been agreed with the Local Authority and we expect work to start later this year. At RP Lead you will have a say in how this new improved provision with look and run.

Key aspects for the role in the first 12 months include:

  • Working with the SENCo to develop practice with the Resource Provision
  • To support/train staff in teaching SEN students across the school
  • To develop support staff in their role in supporting students
  • To work with the Trust in creating a stimulating, warm new provision for the students once the extension is complete.

Our vision for Parkside School is that Parkside School should visibly and substantively impact on the community it is embedded within. This impact should be important, meaningful and considerable. This means young people from Parkside should develop into well-rounded young people who know how to keep themselves safe. We want students to have a personal and specific hope for the future which they can articulate, believe in and share with others; students who can empathise, critique, protect, love, inspire, make, design, explore and understand; students who are willing to try things they have never done before, do things they don’t want to do and be willing to reinvent themselves to become the best that they can be.

To take Parkside forward, we will need to be courageous. We will need to try new things, be open to change and have the courage to put ourselves out of our comfort zones in order to grow.
