We are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy SENDCo to join our senior leadership team. We want someone with the drive and energy to build on and contribute to current strengths across the school and make a positive contribution to our journey towards becoming something really special.
As Deputy SENDCo you will also be an Associate Assistant Head Teacher and part of the Senior Leaderhsip Team. You will lead our 2 SEND Hub classes as well as contibuting and supporting SEND Provision across the school. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to take a first step into senior leaderhsip working alongisde an expereinced SENDCo and a dedicated staff team.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, flexible, well organised and able to work as part of a team as well as having the ability to work alone when required and is ideal for candidates with QTS who are keen to progress as a SENDCo and senior leader.
We see staff as the vital ingredient in our school’s success and our commitment to the development of staff at all levels is a fundamental priority for us.
Key responsibilities, as outlined in the job description, include;
- To lead teaching and learning for the two SEND classes in the SEND Hub. To teach and manage the team to support the learning.
- To be an active member of the Senior Leadership Time driving improvements across the school in line with the school development plan.
- To assist the SENDCO in leading the provision for SEND within the school in the context of current legislation.
- To manage resources for SEND students across the school to ensure that they are used efficiently, effectively, and safely.
- To support the SENDCO in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum for students.
- To work with the SENDCO to develop, manage and maintain provision maps for students.
- To support the SENDCO with the coordination of the daily TA duties and timetables in the SEND Hub.
- To support the SENDCO with the development, implementation, and deliverance of intervention groups and support.
- To deputise for the SENDCO in non-statutory matters relating to SEND.
The ideal candidate will be working towards the SENDCo qulaification or willing to start the qualification.
