About this Role
We are looking for a dedicated Deputy SENCO to join our Inclusion Team and work closely with the SENCO in leading provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is key to ensuring effective strategies, compliance, and improved outcomes for all learners. You will support EHCP processes, monitor SEN interventions, provide staff training, and collaborate with families and external agencies to deliver a child-centred approach. Strong communication, organisational skills, and a passion for inclusion are essential.
Aim and main purpose of the role:
To support the SENCO in leading and managing provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring effective strategies, compliance, and improved outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing individual learning plans, passports, and SMART targets
- Support EHCP processes and statutory compliance
- Monitor and evaluate SEN strategies using Edukey
- Provide staff training and guidance on SEN practices
- Collaborate with families, external agencies, and professionals
- Promote pupil wellbeing and safeguarding in line with statutory guidance
- Contribute to inclusive school policies aligned with the school vision
