The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and positive member of the Learning Support Team to be our Deputy SENDCo at St Cuthbert Mayne School.

The Key Purpose of the Post
To assist in leading and managing the provision of special educational needs learning support; and to take on the role of Deputy SENDCo to support high quality learning, teaching and behaviour, effective use of resources and high standards of achievement and progress for all students. To support the Assistant Headteacher in charge of SEND in their day to day work.

Key Duties
To assist the Assistant Headteacher responsible for SEND by:
Being a team leader for learning support
Undertaking preparation work for Annual Reviews
Facilitation of the Annual Review R meeting and contribution to the writing of the report
Liaison with outside agencies including the Educational Psychology service.
Screening students for Learning Difficulties
Preparing evidence for a Requests for Statutory Assessments
Ensuring access arrangements are in place for students sitting examinations including preparation of form 8s.
Updating the SEND register
Supporting the transition process for SEND students
Ensuring the quality of learning plans and passports
Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role
To have a clear understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Policy.

St Cuthbert Mayne School is a Joint Roman Catholic & Church of England School that welcomes all students from across Torbay and South Devon regardless of their faith background.
