What skills and experience we're looking for
Demonstrate a high level of competency in the use of IT applications e.g. Word, Excel
Ability to assess own contribution to the work of the UTC
Ability to obtain and verify information SEND student’s educational achievements and needs, and to develop a comprehensive profile of their educational achievements and needs
Ability to help students to transfer their learning to other parts of their lives
Ability to provide a good role model to students
Ability to work in an effective partnership with UTC staff, parents/carers and other agencies
Sound organisational and basic work skills including working to deadlines, record-keeping
Empathy with young people facing barriers to their learning
Knowledge of curriculum qualifications
An understanding of and a genuine commitment to Equal Opportunities including contributing to diversity policies and programmes in relation to discriminatory behaviour
Ability to operate safeguarding procedures to best effect.

We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified/experienced Deputy SENDCO who can support our students working alongside the Assistant Principal SENDCO at UTC OLP.
The Deputy SENDCo will promote the progress and achievement of SEND students throughout the UTC. This role will be student focused and will ensure high standards and expectations for both SEND students and staff.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor the UTC Sheffield which opened in 2013, Specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs/A Levels and a technical specialism.
