We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative teacher of Design and Technology for a one year, fixed term Maternity contract. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across KS3 & KS4 and a specialism (other than textiles or food) would be an advantage. There is a possibility of teaching KS5 however this will only be if your specialism is Graphics of Product Design. You will be joining a department that is warmly regarded by both students and staff.
At CBSC there is a strong emphasis on sustaining and raising achievement in innovative ways and there is a genuine commitment to collaboration and professional development with a bespoke CPD programme.
We welcome applications from NQTs who will be well supported by experienced mentors or from aspiring teachers looking to make the next move in their career where there are exceptional opportunities for further professional development and promotion.
If you are an outstanding teacher, have a passion for your subject and a strong commitment to developing young people to achieve their potential, we would like to hear from you.
CBSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to undertake a criminal check via the DBS before they can be appointed
We recommend early applications as the school reserves the right to close the advert prior to the stated deadline date.
We believe in 'growing great teachers' and have a two year training programme in place for NQTs.
A bespoke in house CPD programme for all staff which, this year, is held on Thursday afternoons (the school closes early) and covers areas such as (and this is by no means exhaustive) Teacher Toolkit sessions, Leadership Pathways, Departmental Development Time, T&L Groups, IT Development and SEN Strategy.
We have invested heavily in our school with new Maths and English blocks added in the last 4 years and, this year, will be adding 2 new Science Classrooms to further enhance our school.
