We have a vacancy for a Design Technology and Media Technician to join our team at The Beacon School.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Design Technology and Media Technician to join our team at the Beacon School. In this role, you will provide essential support in a busy and dynamic department, helping students progress and succeed in their practical projects.
What we are looking for
- Adaptability, resilience and being able to think on your feet are essential in this varied role
- Experience in a workshop or similar environment, ideally within an education setting.
- Strong practical skills in areas such as carpentry, metalwork, electronics, or CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to working in a school workshop environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- A proactive and organised individual with good problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to develop new skills and adapt to new technologies.
- You should be patient and calm, with a consistent and positive approach to managing student behaviour, and understand how students learn
- You should be a flexible team player with an interest in developing further professionally
