About Tauheedul Islam Girls' High School and Sixth Form College

Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School is a Muslim faith-based secondary school and sixth form for 11 to 18 year old girls, which welcomes pupils from all faiths and none. Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and dynamic teacher with the energy, creativity and determination to inspire our incredible students, making a difference to their lives, aspirations and career opportunities. You will join a forward-thinking organisation, where Design & Technology is taught with access to a well-equipped and top of the range facilities

Our innovative technology curriculum blends project-based learning with STEM industries and careers, empowering students to become creators and problem solvers. There is a strong focus on using design thinking as a methodology for finding solutions to global challenges and connecting these challenges with real-world industries and careers through an element of employer interaction.

Drawing on disciplines such as 3D design, robotics, engineering, physics, mathematics and software development, pupils acquire a broad range of substantive and disciplinary knowledge, develop 21st century skills, and gain insights into STEM careers that will motivate choice of subjects at KS4 and beyond.

We are looking for someone who:

Is inspiring and able to instill in students a critical and creative way of thinking
Coaches students to find their own solutions to challenges
Can build relationships with our partner employers to enrich and contextualise student learning
Is reflective, open, and passionate about their own CPD and the development of those around them
Has experience with or is keen to learn to use 3D printers, TinkerCAD, Fusion 360, BBC Micro:bits, and other electronics

You will have:

A degree qualification (2iior above) or relevant qualification.
The ability to teach to GCSE Level standard.
The ability to deliver effective and outstanding learning and teaching in the classroom.
Experience of delivering ‘outstanding’ teaching.
Experience of successful delivery of sustained outstanding attainment and achievement.

About Tauheedul Islam Girls' High School

Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Sixth Form College in Blackburn is an 800 place 11-18 girls’ secondary school, which includes a 200 place sixth form. It is a specialist humanities school. Like all Star schools, it also has “Leadership” as a specialism.
