Design Technology Technician job summary

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and passionate candidate for the post of Design Technology Technician to support the Design Technology and Art department teaching teams. This is a varied role involving the preparation of resources and materials in advance of lessons and supporting within lessons. You will be responsible for the Health and Safety maintenance checks of the workshop equipment and ordering and maintaining stock levels. Training to use the machinery will be provided. An interest in supporting students in lessons or instructing small groups would be an advantage. Our students are lively, keen to learn and characterful. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate independence, resourcefulness, great commitment and enthusiasm alongside the willingness to work as part of a tight knit team of teachers and technicians.

The Art and Design Technology Department
The Art and DT department has two designated Art rooms (one housing the working kiln room), a Textiles/Graphics room, two DT practical workshops, two Food Technology rooms and a Motor Vehicle garage. There is also a preparation and storage area. In addition there is a fully functioning photography studio, a dark room and the department has its own computer suite.
