Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) - non teaching job summary

Bishop Stopford School’s safeguarding has been judged outstanding by Ofsted, (May 2025). We have built a highly effective safeguarding team and are now looking to expand it on the retirement of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. We are a large secondary school and it is a dynamic and energetic environment.

You will have significant experience in safeguarding and working with young people either in educational settings or related areas beyond schools and colleges. With nearly 200 staff, there is also the need to be able to lead professional development and support staff in excellent safeguarding practice.
