St Ann’s Primary School, part of the James Montgomery Academy Trust (JMAT), is seeking an exceptional Designated Safeguarding Lead to lead Safeguarding and Child Protection in our vibrant and inclusive school community. As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping children’s lives. You will provide leadership in all aspects of Safeguarding and Child Protection and support our committed team of teachers and support staff in ensuring that all children benefit from a nurturing and positive environment which values keeping children safe above all other things. Your work as the Designated Safeguarding Lead will ensure that we fulfil our statutory duties and that we work in successful partnerships with other agencies in the best interests of our pupils. You will represent the school in advocating for children and amplifying their voices in meetings and provide high quality training for the adults who work in our school. Working closely with the Family Support Worker and members of SLT, you will ensure that the school has a strategic approach to Safeguarding and that family engagement is valued and encouraged. You will champion equality and diversity, and work to ensure that any socially excluded families are welcomed and encouraged to have their voices heard.

We are looking for someone who will:
- Be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the school.
- Provide calm, decisive leadership for the school community that reflects our vision and values and ensures we do our very best to keep our children safe.
- Ensure the school is well-represented, fulfils its statutory obligations and advocates clearly and with empathy for our children and families.
- Ensure that our school operates with a strong commitment to safeguarding practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous professional development providing guidance, mentorship and opportunities for growth to all staff members.
- Collaborate with parents, families, external agencies and the wider community to create a supportive and welcoming school environment.
- Embody the JMAT vision and work in collaboration with others.
