What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a new role within an established, successful and growing education Trust. The Digital Marketing Content Creative will provide professional creative marketing and communication skills, focussing on our “creative first” approach to pupil and teacher recruitment. The role is pivotal to the Trust’s growth, marketing the identity of the Trust and the manifestation of the vision values, reputation and ethos.

We are seeking a self-starter with a passion for conceptualising and delivering creative content. This is an excellent opportunity to design, implement and develop wider Trust marketing, communications and social media strategies. You will work alongside the Trust Creative Lead & Marketing Manager and will work across the Trust with the strategic leadership and the executive teams.

We are looking for a personable, and experienced colleague. You do not need to have worked in education, but you will probably want to when you read more about our mission. What is important is your creative strength (whether graphic design, videography, or photography) together with an ability to work with many people professionally, to be able to explain what good marketing and communications looks like and how to deliver it. We welcome candidates that will carve out their own path, look to identify needs and ideate Trust direction alongside the Trust Creative Lead & Marketing Manager.

You will be someone who can empower colleagues within our organisation to deliver excellent content for social media, websites and other communications. You will bring flare and media savviness to our teams and be an expert at modelling how things need to be done and demonstrating the vision to others, enabling them. Being a generalist, you will be used to strategic planning but also as a hybrid creative, will have the skills to turn ideas into a full realisation.

We are very proud of our school, which attracts students from across Greater Manchester and beyond. It first opened in 1834. Our founder, Thomas Henshaw, was a committed Anglican who left a bequest to fund a school which would provide education for the orphaned boys of the parish.

From these humble beginnings, the Blue Coat School has become one of the biggest and most successful schools in the country. The school has a national reputation for high quality teaching and learning, pastoral care, consistently excellent examination results and outstanding progress. Our most recent OFSTED inspection in 2011/2 judged the school to be outstanding in every category. As a result, Blue Coat has been designated a National Teaching School which means that we work with schools nationally and locally to develop the very best educational provision. Blue Coat is grounded in tradition and history, and is evolving and forward looking. Our historic campus has been restored and developed extensively; our students enjoy picnic lunches in front of a Grade II listed building but their learning takes place in superb 21st century classrooms, laboratories and studios.

Blue Coat is dedicated to serving young people, to enable them to become everything they can be and everything that they are meant to be. We are a Church of England school that welcomes members of other Christian denominations, and of other faiths.

Our Anglican beliefs, values and worship are at the core of our life together in school.
