We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to lead on initiatives which enable all students within the OHA community to access high quality education including students with SEND, persistent absence or the need to learn outside of the classroom.

Sitting within the Senior Leadership team (SLT) and line managed by the Vice Principal: Classroom Practice, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain or further their experience of whole school leadership and development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of GL Assessments across the academy (this will include NGRT & PASS assessments)
  • Analysis of GL data,
  • Oversight of interventions based on GL data (KS3),
  • Enabling the provision of quality first teaching for students with SEND,
  • Enabling the provision of quality first teaching for students with persistent absence,
  • Enabling the provision of quality first teaching for students who access learning outside of the classroom,
  • Classroom Practice coaching & ECT mentoring,
  • Leading whole school CPD,
  • Assessing students on entry to the academy

As a Teaching member of staff, you will also meet the criteria within our Teachers Job Description and Person Specification (attached).

As a member of SLT you will:

  • Attend daily SLT briefings and weekly SLT meeting,
  • Carry out pastoral duties within the academy,
  • Quality Assure lessons and provide colleagues with feedback,
  • Demonstrate superb communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Build and support effective relationships, including holding others to account,
  • Inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others to carry the vision and values of our academy,
  • Demonstrate personal enthusiasm and commitment to the leadership process,
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and manage conflict,
  • Prioritise, plan and organise themselves and others,
  • Think creatively to predict and solve problems,
  • Listen to and reflect on feedback,
  • Put pupils first and be positive about our young people,
  • Have and communicate high expectations of our young people.
