Why join us?

North Star Community Trust is an ambitious and values‑driven multi‑academy trust at the heart of North London, serving around 2,600 pupils across four schools: Heron Hall Academy & Sixth Form, Woodpecker Hall Academy, Kingfisher Hall Academy and Enfield Heights Academy. Our work is shaped by a clear and powerful purpose — to help as many children as possible succeed at school and in life.

As a Trust, we believe that strong schools, strong leaders and strong communities come together to create lasting impact. Everything we do is guided by our shared values of being inclusive, ambitious, supportive, kind and acting with integrity. These values are embodied in our approach to education, underpinned by the belief that we are truly Stronger Together.

About the role

The Director of Education provides strategic, Trust-wide leadership to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and pupil outcomes across all our academies. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape and deliver the Trust’s educational strategy, provide support to Headteachers and assure the Board of Trustees on performance, quality and compliance.

This is a part-time executive role (2 days per week) offering the opportunity to influence growth, innovation and educational excellence across the Trust. You may also be deployed into strategic projects, interim leadership or other Trust-wide responsibilities as needed.

What we are looking for

  • Lead curriculum development and embed evidence-informed, innovative teaching and learning approaches

  • Ensure operational excellence

  • Champion innovation and the strategic adoption of technology to improve teaching, learning and decision-making

The successful candidate will combine vision, resilience and professionalism, with the ability to influence, inspire and deliver results across a diverse and high-performing community of schools.

What we offer

Our pledge is to offer a supportive, caring, meaningful place to work and learn. Being an employer of choice is our continued aspiration. We offer a range of benefits to our staff:

  • A supportive, collaborative environment with support from the CEO and Trust Board
  • Opportunities to shape the future of a growing innovative Trust
  • Access to high-quality leadership development and professional growth
  • Competitive remuneration and pension package commensurate with seniority
