Job overview

  • You’ll hold overall responsibility for the strategic direction and development of English and a proven ability to inspire and to develop and embed positive attitudes towards teaching and learning in this core curriculum subject.
  • Pupil teaching and the advancement of learning will remain central to the role and your unerring passion and love for English will be felt throughout your interactions with staff and pupils alike. You will be an inspirational teacher of the subject and a motivational mentor to other teachers.
  • Your leadership and line-management skills will be effective, fair, unambiguous and wholly in line with our values of kindness, professionalism pride, resilience and independence and will form a key aspect of this pivotal role.
  • Of course, underpinning this Director role will be the emphasis on and over-riding importance of Safeguarding in line with the Oasis Community Learning's commitment the safety and welfare of our children and young people.
  • We recognise that this role will require huge amounts of resilience, perseverance for the long-haul and a constant drive for innovative excellence. However, this is also a role that will be incredibly rewarding and will offer exciting progression as we grow as a school.
